From page one, I was hooked by main character Simon’s matter of fact and intelligent personality. Simon as he struggles with the usual high school difficulties: friendship, crushes, and parents, with the added worry of coming out before his nemesis does it for him.
Simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda is refreshingly honest and Becky Albertalli has done an amazing job of capturing the essence of what it means to be in high school today. You’ll feel like you get Simon’s and his friends’ in-jokes and will want to continue to hang out with them after the last page is over.
